Wábi Gallery opens in New Haven

Wábi Gallery brings both emerging and established artists to the New Haven, CT, community. By offering a welcoming space for professional exhibitions and educational programs, the gallery makes art creation and appreciation more accessible to diverse audiences.

“Wabi,” from the Algonquin language, means “he sees,” “sight,” or “dawn.” The design of the wordmark draws inspiration from Native American text, type, and textiles.

Kim Weston—artist, curator, and educator—is the founder, owner, and creative director of Wábi Gallery, a longtime dream she has been developing since 2021. Her work explores themes of spirit, identity, indigeneity, and the fragile line between life and death. This month, Weston opened the gallery with Afterdark, a group exhibition curated by Moshopefoluwa Olagunju and César López.
